Kliklok top load cartoning line goes to Australia

A leading Australian frozen poultry company has chosen Kliklok to supply a top load cartoning line to pack bagged chicken nuggets at up to 140 cartons per minute.
Cartons are lock erected on Kliklok’s new & improved GENESIS Former using double forming tools. Over the years, the Genesis has proved to be one of Kliklok’s most popular and best selling models, with its robust and durable construction, large size range, and reliable carton forming geometry.
The latest model has newly designed guarding and an updated electrical package with Allen Bradley controls and colour HMI screen for improved user interface.
For this project, the Genesis former is linked by integrated conveyor to Kliklok’s VARI STRAIGHT carton closer. Unveiled at Interpack 2008, the Vari Straight is a straight-line closer for tri-seal cartons, and takes Kliklok’s revolutionary variable pitch technology to a higher level.
To provide a controlled carton turn without a change in direction, the unique turning bed features "pop-up" turning bars that capture the cartons and guide them through a 90° turn and into the flap closing section. The inherent slip and timing issues associated with conventional "lugless" carton closers are eliminated
Kliklok's patented "pop-up lug" technology fires lugs only when a carton is present, providing the benefits of lugged carton control and random infeed timing, and allowing a broad carton size range.
Flawless registration is achieved by first folding the trailing charlotte flap, ensuring consistent alignment of the front tuck and flaps, reducing carton waste and offering ideal presentation of the final package. Automatic program setup makes size change achievable in less than ten minutes. In addition, parameter settings are automatically adjusted for optimal performance based on carton size and speed, allowing increased operating efficiency and reduced waste.
